Alpha RTT comes in two models, 2 person (Alpha II) and a 3-4 person Alpha. Both hard shell RTTs allow you to enjoy the same level of comfort and quality and offer ample space for you and your companions.
4 Season Protection
The Tuff Stuff Alpha rooftop tent is designed with 280g poly cotton fabric that is waterproof and protect you from elements such as wind, rain, snow or sun. It also has a waterproof coated rainfly to keep water out of your tent and keep you dry throughout your trip.
Durable
It’s made of high-quality materials, and comes with an ABS shell, the base is made of honeycomb aluminum, 280g poly-cotton ripstop with a rainfly of 210D poly oxford coated for 5000 mm, completely waterproof and durable materials.
Comfortable Interior
Featuring a high-density foam mattress, with 73.5”x 86.5” dimensions. The thickness is typically around 2 to 3 inches, providing comfort for sleeping outdoors.
In Alpha rooftop tent you have a removable internal divider that can split the tent into two separate spaces for privacy and convenience. Enjoy your nights out with friends and family.
Enhanced Ventilation
Alpha RTT has 3 windows and mesh panels with window dimensions around 12 inches to 24 inches in width and 18 to 36 inches in height. Mesh panels integrated into the windows prevent insects, allowing air to circulate freely.
Campsite Options
This RTT can overcome the limitations of ground tents by expanding campsite options. With a rooftop tent you can utilize rocky terrain, use them in wet areas where the ground is waterlogged, and provide a dry and secure sleeping area. Instructions
Mounting Tent
Mounting your tent requires a minimum of 2 people for lifting.
Your tent will ONLY OPEN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. Position the tent on top of the vehicle's roof rack, bed rack, or trailer and center to your liking.
Using the supplied hardware and mounting plates, slide the hardware into the channel so there are 2 bolts per corner (one in front and one behind the vehicle's crossbars).
Run the bolts through the mounting brackets holes, thread nuts onto each bolt.
Confirm you are happy with the position of the tent, vehicle balance, and appearance then tighten all nuts to the brackets until the tent cannot move.
Undo the buckles on the side of the tent, push up on the handle to actuate the hydraulic rams to open the tent hard shell, Pull out on the telescoping ladder until it is fully extended- pull down on ladder until the folding side of the tent has opened and extended fully.
Reposition the ladder to your desired height/angle.
Install the supplied tension rods on the overhang of the tent & windows, open the door, and enjoy!
FAQs
How do I keep my roof top tent shell looking nice?
Not unlike a Brazilian model, keep it clean and waxed. Just like anything that you want to keep nice you need to maintain it. This means washing and waxing on a semi-regular basis. Sticks and stones, bird dookie, bug splatter, salty air, bad jokes, etc. will all work to etch and ruin your sweet, beautiful Alpha shell.
Can I run my vehicle and tent through a car wash?
Not unless you're filming something for Instagram and don't care if your tent gets ripped from the vehicle like a category 5 hurricane.
Similar to, "The Princess and the Pea" I too require a memory foam mattress. Why don't you sell one with your tents?
Have you ever fallen into a memory foam bed when it's cold? If so, then you know why we do not offer memory foam mattresses. Cold weather and memory foam are not friends. Not only does memory foam "freeze" up in the cold but it holds moisture and its little friend mold. RTT's have enough issues with condensation. You do not want to add a hard, wet, moldy sponge to the mix.

I got the Alpha RTT and for what it cost it far exceeds what you pay for! Hardshell, LED lighting, telescopic ladder, over engineered hardware, boot and accessory bag included, and super easy to set up and take down. I also got the annex room. It goes on super easy and comes with a floor. Another reason that I chose Tuff Stuff was because everything was included. I didn't have to worry about the accessories being extra. When you buy their tent, it comes with everything that you would expect.

Alpha is big enough for 3 adult and 1 kids. I love it. However it is little bit heavy to install.
The wait time was more than I anticipated even after seeing the notification of long lead times. I have to give them props for giving some compensation for the excessive wait time. Having slightly larger holes would help with fitment. Had a hard time getting the front drivers side away from the pinch weld. Eventually had to use washers to add space away from the truck. Need to update pictures and instalation video for the new sliders they are now making
All packing and shipment were great, everything was there. I had to contract out the install because of arthritis, it took them two hours and looks perfect. Zero wind noise at any speed 0 to 100.
Fit and finish is excellent. Looks great on the Bronco. No whistling noise at all, some additional wind noise over 60mph but not much different than it was without the rack. Assembly was not too difficult. Instructions and videos could be a little better.
The quality and dedication of the team at Sherpa is evident from the very first interaction with them, and is further proven in the product itself. This rack is well engineered, easy to assemble, easy to adjust, and holds up incredibly well with no loosening or rattling or shifting (even after over 200 miles of driving on poorly maintained roads). Currently operating with approximately 180 pounds of gear mounted on the bed rack and no issues at all so far. I expected the vibration to work the bolts loose over time, but every time I check they're all still snug. My only regret is that I didn't pull the trigger and get this rack sooner.
First of all, the team at Sherpa is full of passion for adventure and that passion shows in the quality of their products. This roof rack looks incredible and surprised me with it's sturdiness. No loosening of hardware, even after weeks of driving. Currently holding approximately 80 pounds of gear for everyday driving, plus an additional 110 strapped on top during a camping trip (and I even stood on top of the entire loadout). No warping, bending, twisting, or slipping. The fact that this matches the bed rack perfectly in height is the icing on the cake. Easily serves as a tie off for a tarp, rain fly, hammock, or whatever you need. Perfect for modular campsite setup and quick teardown.

This is our first roof rack that we are going to use to put a RRT (roof top tent) on for back country trips. Well-built product that came with all the nuts, bolts and washers to complete the installation. Took about 1-1/2 to 2 hours install the rack. You will another person to help place the racks on top of the Jeep for final install. Overall, a great, well-built American product

This is on my tundra absolutely solid rack looks fantastic extremely modular, which is why I went this route. I can use the whole rack when traveling and over landing then rock the chase rack only when the rest is not in use, I actually use the recovery traction board mounts for my shower room set up, which works amazingly just relocated the board somewhere shown in picture keep innovating TUWAand I’ll keep purchasing.

Nice product. Wish the step was flatter. On the large end I drilled and taped two more holes on the outside edge to pull it down better. After that I’m very happy with them.
Nice, quality sliders that are straightforward to install. They look good on the truck and are very functional. That being said, the one negative was the long delays on shipping and delivery, and communication was less than optimal to say the least.

A fantastic rack
Had a few issues at the beginning with some missing nuts in the package but that was easily rectified with a trip to the hardware store. This thing is built like a tank, and it's been rock solid heavily loaded over some very rough terrain.
