Roof top tents are not vehicle-specific. It is up to you to do your research. Make sure your vehicle has a stable roof rack that can support the weight of the tent on top, in addition to the people inside. Always refer to your vehicle manual. Heavy-duty crossbars (left to right) are necessary to support the weight of the tent, and we recommend checking your factory rail system (front to back) to confirm it will hold the weight of your tent and the people inside. Max width of your crossbar should be 3.25" or less so there are no modifications needed to use the provided brackets. If your crossbars are wider than 3.25" you will need to purchase brackets from another source or have them manufactured for you.
Not unless you're filming something for Instagram and don't care if your tent gets ripped from the vehicle like a category 5 hurricane.
Manufactured from high-quality polyester/cotton windproof fabric.
Yes, you can remove the cover and wash it.
Yes, the roof top tent can fold open from the right or left side of the vehicle or trailer.
Yes, the tent comes ready with all hardware and wrenches but you will need to have the roof top racks ready for installation. Always check the weight capacity of your racks and your vehicle.
Comfortably 4-5 adults but if you have small children they can be placed in between you or in the free annex room that is included. Who are we kidding! Put those kids in the annex room and everyone will have a better trip! Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
Compared to other soft shell tents on the market, yes. Once you practice a few times in your driveway, the tent will take approximately 10-15 minutes to assembly. The bulk of that time is setting up the window rods so that the windows have an overhang.
Absolutely. The tent is waterproof as well as comes with a "Rain Fly" for those long rainy days. When secured correctly the tent will hold up to high winds.
No, the driving cover protects the tent. Even though it seems like "things" will get into the tent during travel time it won't. Having said that, we do suggest that once you get ready to hit the trail you open the tent up to "air it out", brush off the mattress protector, and then you are ready to enjoy the outdoor adventures.
Unless you are blessed with OCD yes. Yes of course you do. Clean it and air it out. You're not a teenager anymore.
Yes, that's why we said it twice. The tent doesn't come with mold but it will move in if you don't air it out after each trip. Your body creates moisture through heat and breathing. Or if you tinkle the bed after too many beers around the campfire. Air out your tent and you'll have it to enjoy for years.

Prop 65 Warning- Product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov
Proposition 65 is a California law passed in 1986. Its goals are to protect drinking water sources from toxic substances that may cause cancer and birth defects and to reduce or eliminate exposures to those chemicals generally, for example in consumer products, by requiring warnings in advance of those exposures.
The regulation requires the State of California to revise and republish yearly a list of chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. The current list contains over 900 naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals. This regulation also requires manufacturers to place warnings on products that contain any of the chemicals listed by the State of California. No other states require warnings of this nature, and products with Prop 65 warning language are legal to sell in all states. Detailed information regarding requirements for compliance to the California Prop. 65 is can be found at: www.P65Warning.ca.gov
We get it. You've got a lot of choice when it comes to online retailers.
Here's why we think you should shop with us at ExtrailAuto.
This product is fantastic value for the money, it can't be beat. The quality is a tiny bit lower than expected, but still exception value for what you spend. There were some metal shavings that fell out of the tent when I opened it for the first time, so thats why I gave it 4 stars on quality.
This tent is Massive! I had a Tepui 2 person before this however with a growing family I went bigger. The quality is easily as good as the Tepui was. I recommend that you get the condensation matt for under the mattress as we did experience some and bought one after the initial purchase. The Annex is large also and gives the kids and us somewhere to hang out of the rain.
The only way we are getting 3 people up there is if one of them is a baby. I also take up more space than most people (6'5" 280), so maybe that is why we can't fit 3 people. 1st night in it was windy 20-25mph) and once all of the flaps and covers were tight, the tent didn't make any noise at all. My dome tent would have been folded over and smacking me in the face all night. Tent, annex room, and awning are all heavy duty and appear to stand up to the elements better than any ground-based tent I've ever had. Even without the annex, I like how this tent has an overhang over the door, it allowed me to get in and out without allowing the rain into the tent. If this tent lasts half as long as the other big name (big money) tents out there then it will be well worth the money. If it does that, I'll buy another one.
My Elite RTT definitely exceeded my expectations! I definitely recommend this tent to anybody. The very first time I used it, I was hit with a big storm with winds exceeding 30 mph and the tent took it like a champ. Very happy with my purchase.
We fit two toddlers and two adults in the tent comfortably. Don't expect to fit 5 full sized people in this tent, that might be a stretch. We are very happy with the tent it seems to be of equal quality of the other rooftop tents I've seen of similar design. The lower annex room and floor take a while to put on and off but the tent itself deploys very quickly. I would but another one and would recommend to others.
The wait time was more than I anticipated even after seeing the notification of long lead times. I have to give them props for giving some compensation for the excessive wait time. Having slightly larger holes would help with fitment. Had a hard time getting the front drivers side away from the pinch weld. Eventually had to use washers to add space away from the truck. Need to update pictures and instalation video for the new sliders they are now making
All packing and shipment were great, everything was there. I had to contract out the install because of arthritis, it took them two hours and looks perfect. Zero wind noise at any speed 0 to 100.
Absolutely love my new rack and roam cases. Appreciate the Sherpa crew as well for their hospitality while the installation was taking place.
Fit and finish is excellent. Looks great on the Bronco. No whistling noise at all, some additional wind noise over 60mph but not much different than it was without the rack. Assembly was not too difficult. Instructions and videos could be a little better.
The quality and dedication of the team at Sherpa is evident from the very first interaction with them, and is further proven in the product itself. This rack is well engineered, easy to assemble, easy to adjust, and holds up incredibly well with no loosening or rattling or shifting (even after over 200 miles of driving on poorly maintained roads). Currently operating with approximately 180 pounds of gear mounted on the bed rack and no issues at all so far. I expected the vibration to work the bolts loose over time, but every time I check they're all still snug. My only regret is that I didn't pull the trigger and get this rack sooner.
First of all, the team at Sherpa is full of passion for adventure and that passion shows in the quality of their products. This roof rack looks incredible and surprised me with it's sturdiness. No loosening of hardware, even after weeks of driving. Currently holding approximately 80 pounds of gear for everyday driving, plus an additional 110 strapped on top during a camping trip (and I even stood on top of the entire loadout). No warping, bending, twisting, or slipping. The fact that this matches the bed rack perfectly in height is the icing on the cake. Easily serves as a tie off for a tarp, rain fly, hammock, or whatever you need. Perfect for modular campsite setup and quick teardown.
I bought the Sherpa Crestone rack for my 2024 4Runner TRD Pro. Incredibly well-made and excellent design. Spend the extra , to get best roof rack in the market. You won’t regret it.
This is our first roof rack that we are going to use to put a RRT (roof top tent) on for back country trips. Well-built product that came with all the nuts, bolts and washers to complete the installation. Took about 1-1/2 to 2 hours install the rack. You will another person to help place the racks on top of the Jeep for final install. Overall, a great, well-built American product
Install was super easy. The quality was great. Customer service was quick to respond to any issues! I’ve already been getting compliments on it and what brand it is. This will be great for camping this year!
This is on my tundra absolutely solid rack looks fantastic extremely modular, which is why I went this route. I can use the whole rack when traveling and over landing then rock the chase rack only when the rest is not in use, I actually use the recovery traction board mounts for my shower room set up, which works amazingly just relocated the board somewhere shown in picture keep innovating TUWAand I’ll keep purchasing.
Good looking cat shields made of stainless steel with cooling holes. Priced well, easy install, no issues. Would buy again.
Great service from their staff. Robert help me through all the process with a request I had, he responded all emails in a timely manner and provided great help.
We received it within 3 days and installed the same day. Great awning and very well made.
the tent is very nice, comfortable and roomy.
Following the instructions was fairly easy. Its better to have second person to set it up. I really like the tent and the support that from ExtrailAuto. Really recommeded! Thanks

Great fast shipping. Robert was great and helpful
Fit and install as advertised
Nice product. Wish the step was flatter. On the large end I drilled and taped two more holes on the outside edge to pull it down better. After that I’m very happy with them.
Nice, quality sliders that are straightforward to install. They look good on the truck and are very functional. That being said, the one negative was the long delays on shipping and delivery, and communication was less than optimal to say the least.
Love the easy install and videos!
High Quality , great fit. Look awesome.
Sliders look and fit great. Pretty simple and straightforward install however, the install video did leave out some key details and extra non-applicable hardware made install slightly confusing.
My new Rock Sliders “Rock!” I love em’ the fitment was perfect and they look awesome on my 4Runner TRD-ORP!
Had a few issues at the beginning with some missing nuts in the package but that was easily rectified with a trip to the hardware store. This thing is built like a tank, and it's been rock solid heavily loaded over some very rough terrain.
All packing and shipment were great, everything was there. I had to contract out the install because of arthritis, it took them two hours and looks perfect. Zero wind noise at any speed 0 to 100.
