Description

CBI Ford Bronco Front Overland Skid Plate | 2022-Current

Heavy-Duty Front-End Armor. 90-Minute Bolt-On. Ultimate Steering & Engine Protection.

The First Line of Defense for Your Bronco

The CBI Off-road Front Overland Skid Plate is engineered to be the primary shield for your 2022+ Ford Bronco’s most sensitive components. The front undercarriage houses the steering rack and engine vitals—components that are dangerously exposed when navigating rocks, stumps, and deep trail ruts.

Crafted from heavy-duty steel, this front skid plate isn't just about protection; it's about confidence. It allows you to tackle vertical ledges and technical terrain knowing your drivetrain is safely tucked behind a wall of American-made steel.

The Problem & The Solution:

The Pain: Factory front-end protection is often flimsy, and many aftermarket skids don't offer the clearance needed for serious wheeling. One "hidden" rock can snap a tie rod or crack an oil pan.
The CBI Solution: We provide a Heavy-Duty Steel ramp that slides over obstacles. Our 100% Bolt-On design ensures you aren't drilling into your new Bronco’s frame.

Steering Rack Shield

Specifically contoured to protect the vulnerable steering rack components from direct impact and trail debris.

Trail-Tested in the Harshest Conditions

From the Mojave Desert to the high Sierras, CBI Off-road products are tested where it matters most. This front skid is designed to work as a standalone piece or integrate with the full CBI Overland system to provide total underbody coverage.

Real Owner Feedback ★★★★★

"The peace of mind this front skid provides is worth every penny. After installing an aftermarket bumper, I realized how exposed the steering rack was. This CBI skid bolted right up and has already saved my oil pan from a nasty stump in the woods. Solid, heavy-duty, and looks aggressive."

- Mark T., Ford Bronco Owner

Frequently Asked Questions

+ Why does it not work with the factory bumper?

The factory front bumper has structural supports and plastic trim that sit low and occupy the same space as this heavy-duty skid plate. To achieve the protection and clearance levels provided by CBI, you must move to an aftermarket bumper system.

+ Will this fit my Sasquatch-equipped Bronco?

If your Sasquatch trim includes the disconnecting sway bar, this skid plate is unfortunately not compatible. The mechanism for the sway bar disconnect interferes with the skid mounting points.

+ Steel or Aluminum: Which is better for the front?

CBI uses heavy-duty steel for front skids because the front is the most frequent point of impact. Steel allows you to slide over rocks without the metal gouging or grabbing, which can happen with softer aluminum.

+ How much does this affect ground clearance?

CBI skids are designed to tuck as tightly to the frame as possible. While the thickness of the steel adds a fraction of an inch, the smooth surface actually makes you more capable by allowing you to slide over obstacles that would catch on the factory frame crossmembers.

+ Is the gas tank skid included?

No, this listing is for the Front Skid Only. The gas tank skid is sold separately, allowing you to build your overland protection system as your budget allows.

Prop 65 Warning- Product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

Proposition 65 is a California law passed in 1986. Its goals are to protect drinking water sources from toxic substances that may cause cancer and birth defects and to reduce or eliminate exposures to those chemicals generally, for example in consumer products, by requiring warnings in advance of those exposures.

The regulation requires the State of California to revise and republish yearly a list of chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. The current list contains over 900 naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals. This regulation also requires manufacturers to place warnings on products that contain any of the chemicals listed by the State of California. No other states require warnings of this nature, and products with Prop 65 warning language are legal to sell in all states. Detailed information regarding requirements for compliance to the California Prop. 65 is can be found at: www.P65Warning.ca.gov
