Description

AMP Research PowerStep Xtreme - 2015-2020 Ford F-150

Plug N' Play System. Dual-Motor Power. Built to Conquer the Harshest Winters.

The Toughest Electric Step for the 13th Gen F-150

The AMP Research POWERSTEP XTreme is engineered specifically for 2015-2020 Ford F-150 owners who don't have the luxury of skipping work when the weather turns. From sub-zero northern winters to rockers caked in thick, frozen mud, this electric running board is designed to hold up to the absolute extreme.

Equipped with a Plug N' Play System, this kit bypasses the headache of traditional wiring. It connects directly to your truck's OBD-II port, providing a fast, clean installation that communicates seamlessly with your F-150's computer.

The Problem & The Solution:

The Pain: Standard electric steps often stall or "ghost" when frozen ice or heavy mud builds up in the linkages. Slippery surfaces also make entry dangerous during rain or snow.
The XTreme Solution: We doubled the drive power with dual motors on each side and added an aggressive, high-traction aluminum step to ensure deployment and safety in any environment.

Key Features: The XTreme Advantage

Dual-Motor Drive

Two high-torque motors drive the board on each side, providing twice the power to blast through ice and mud buildup.

Plug N' Play Connectivity

No door panel removal or wire splicing. The OBD-II port connection makes installation faster and more reliable.

Extreme Traction

An aggressive, textured step surface ensures work boots stay planted in wet, icy, or muddy conditions.

Integrated LED Lights

Automatically illuminates the stepping area when deployed, providing safety and visibility during dark early mornings.

Die-Cast Aluminum

Constructed from high-strength die-cast aluminum components for a lightweight yet rock-solid stepping platform.

Corrosion Resistance

Finished with a durable high-texture powder coating that resists road salt, grit, and harsh chemicals.

OEM-Quality Systems

Weatherproof motors and wiring harnesses set the industry standard for long-term electrical reliability.

5-Year Warranty

Backed by a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty. Engineered and manufactured in the USA.

Designed for the Modern Work Truck

AMP Research didn't just make a step; they built a mechanical tool for the 2015-2020 F-150. By tucking the step high against the rockers when retracted, you maintain 100% of your ground clearance while protecting the internal components from road debris.

F-150 Owner Feedback ★★★★★

"I live in the Upper Peninsula where -20 degrees is normal. My last set of steps would freeze and get stuck halfway, but these Xtreme dual motors just power right through the ice. The traction on the actual board is great too—my boots don't slip even when they're covered in snow. The Plug N' Play install on my 2018 F-150 took me less than 3 hours."

- Mark V., Ford F-150 Owner
Plug N' Play Advantage

Simplified Installation: This kit includes the OBD-II port connector. You do not need to tap into factory door trigger wires, which preserves your vehicle's warranty and prevents electrical gremlins common with cheap aftermarket steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ Will this drain my truck's battery?

No. The AMP Research controller is designed to stay in a "sleep" mode when the doors are closed. It only draws significant power during the few seconds of deployment or retraction.

+ Does the Plug N' Play system use the OBD-II port permanently?

Yes, the module stays plugged in to receive the door trigger signals. However, if you need to use a diagnostic tool, you can simply unplug it or purchase a pass-through OBD-II splitter.

+ How do these handle ice buildup on the linkages?

The XTreme is specifically built for this. While standard steps might stall, the dual-motor setup provides massive torque to physically crack through ice barriers and deploy the step.

+ Is the traction surface safe for kids and pets?

Yes. While "aggressive," the die-cast aluminum texture is designed to provide grip for footwear. It is safe for all passengers and significantly reduces the chance of slipping compared to smooth factory plastic steps.

+ Can the steps be left down for washing?

Yes. You can manually hold the step down with your foot as it deploys, which will keep it in the down position. This allows you to easily clean the board and rinse out the hinges.

Prop 65 Warning- Product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

Proposition 65 is a California law passed in 1986. Its goals are to protect drinking water sources from toxic substances that may cause cancer and birth defects and to reduce or eliminate exposures to those chemicals generally, for example in consumer products, by requiring warnings in advance of those exposures.

The regulation requires the State of California to revise and republish yearly a list of chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. The current list contains over 900 naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals. This regulation also requires manufacturers to place warnings on products that contain any of the chemicals listed by the State of California. No other states require warnings of this nature, and products with Prop 65 warning language are legal to sell in all states. Detailed information regarding requirements for compliance to the California Prop. 65 is can be found at: www.P65Warning.ca.gov
